I think most people 20 and older feel like they lost a close and personal friend on October 28. Chandler Bing was a huge part of my life. In college, it seemed like I always had a Thursday night class. My friends and I would beg our professor to end class early so we could run to a room with a TV and catch the show live.
It was common to hear quotes like "I'm not great at the advice. Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?" or "Could she be more out of my league?" across campus. We continue to quote the show almost 20 years after the show ended.
